Ellen Zachos is a Harvard graduate, a former Broadway performer, and a Greek-American horticulturist who enjoys nothing more than regaling anyone who will listen with stories about fascinating plants. Despite having retired from the theater, Ellen still loves an audience; her presentations are enthusiastic, entertaining, and beautifully illustrated.

Ellen is the author of ten previous books about plants, and has been recognized by Garden Communicators International for both her writing and podcasting. Ellen has been chosen as a Great American Gardener by the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and speaks at horticultural organizations nationally and internationally.

For six years she was the co-host of the Plantrama podcast, which ranked in the top fifty home and garden podcasts nationwide. An instructor at the New York Botanic Garden for fifteen years, Ellen now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
